WHAT THE WORKSHOP CHECKS

What we check before recommending a production method

A requirement may concern a technical part, prototype, workshop, team or presentation material. Its function, dimensions, environment and quantity help define the assessment.

01

The function and environment

The intended use, dimensions, expected loads and mechanical, thermal or outdoor constraints provide the framework for the requirement.

02

The files and measurements

Available plans, 3D files, sketches, photographs and dimensions are checked before any further requirements are defined.

03

The test, part or repeat production

We distinguish between a prototype, one-off part, small run and other items intended for the workshop or a presentation.

FROM IDEA TO PRODUCTION

Three steps to define your technical requirement

  1. 01

You describe the function and expected result

State the intended use, dimensions, environment, quantity, lead time and available files.

  2. 02

    We check the project's feasibility

The workshop examines the geometry, materials, constraints, variations and the level of finish that is genuinely useful.

  3. 03

    You receive initial guidance

The response identifies any missing information and distinguishes scoping, a prototype, a part or a small run.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your questions — Trades, creation & industry

Can a 3D-printed part be used directly?

This depends on the function, material, geometry and constraints. The intended use must be assessed before confirming that a printed part is suitable.

Can you recommend a material for a prototype?

Yes. Describe the environment, rigidity, flexibility, heat and expected loads so that the available materials can be compared.

How do I prepare for repeat production after a prototype?

The prototype is used to check the shape and intended use. Once any corrections have been approved, the file and settings can provide the basis for a new run subject to a quote.

Can I start with a sketch, photographs or dimensions?

Yes. These materials may allow an initial assessment. The workshop will then say whether a 3D file, dimensioned drawing or further information is required.

Can a prototype and other items be combined in the same project?

Yes. A request can also include textiles, branding, labels, signage or presentation materials. Each production process is still checked separately.

Which constraints should be specified for a technical part?

Describe the function, dimensions, environment, expected loads and critical areas. This information is used to assess the geometry and available materials.

Can an urgent request be considered?

A 24 h or 72 h express option can be considered only subject to feasibility, the files, dimensions, quantity and availability.

Are files checked before production?

Yes. The geometry, dimensions, any assemblies and the information required for the intended use are examined before production is confirmed.

YOUR TECHNICAL PROJECT

Have your prototype or workshop materials assessed

Describe the function, dimensions, environment, quantities, materials and available files. The workshop will check feasibility before any production begins.
