PHOTO & ART · A3 AND A3+ FORMAT

A3 & A3+ photo posters

Photo posters in A3 and A3+ formats printed from your file, for a photograph, poster or visual artwork. PowerPrint checks the format, orientation, crop, any margins and resolution before printing in its Luxembourg workshop, from one-offs to small runs.

DO YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT YOU NEED?

State A3 or A3+ format, portrait or landscape orientation, quantity, with or without margins, intended use and preferred date. Add the original file and, if there are several artworks, the number of copies of each.

Request a quote

The choice between A3 and A3+ can still be confirmed after the file has been checked; no automatic cropping is applied.

NEED ADVICE?

STILL UNSURE BETWEEN A3 AND A3+ OR ABOUT THE CROP?

Describe where and how the poster will be used, the preferred orientation and what must remain visible. We will help you compare A3 and A3+, then choose between an approved crop and margins if the file proportions do not match the selected format.

A3 OR A3+: CHOOSE THE RIGHT AREA

A3 is the more compact of the two formats. A3+ provides a larger area and can leave more space around an image or accommodate a larger composition. The choice depends on the intended use, orientation and file proportions; the usable format is confirmed when quoting.

This page covers A3 and A3+ posters only. Before production, we check whether the file is designed for portrait or landscape orientation and whether its composition remains balanced at the chosen format.

ASPECT RATIO, MARGINS AND RESOLUTION BEFORE PRINTING

An image does not always have the same proportions as A3 or A3+. If the aspect ratio does not match, you must choose either an explicitly approved crop or margins; no automatic cropping is assumed. The orientation must also be stated to avoid an unbalanced composition.

Resolution is assessed at final size: a file that looks sharp on a phone or screen may become insufficient once enlarged. Preferably send the original file without using a screenshot or adding further compression. Screen display and printing use different processes; absolute colour fidelity cannot be guaranteed.

Your questions — A3 & A3+ photo posters

Can I order a single poster or a small run?

Yes. A3 and A3+ posters can be assessed, from one-offs to small runs, according to the number of artworks, quantities and required lead time.

What is the difference between A3 and A3+?

A3+ provides a larger area than A3. It can leave more space around the subject or accommodate a larger composition. The choice depends on the image, orientation and intended use; the available format and usable area are confirmed when quoting.

Will my image be cropped?

No automatic cropping is applied. We compare the file's aspect ratio with the chosen format. If they differ, the workshop will tell you whether a crop needs approving or whether the entire image should be retained with margins.

Can I choose the orientation and print with or without margins?

Yes. State portrait or landscape and whether you require margins. The file's composition and proportions are checked, and the selected crop must then be confirmed before production.

Which files and resolution should I provide, and do you accept AI-generated images?

For a photograph, preferably send the original JPG, PNG, TIFF or PDF file without using a screenshot or adding further compression. For graphic artwork, a PDF, SVG, AI or EPS can be examined. Resolution is checked at final size. An AI-generated image can be examined, but inconsistent details, false text, artefacts and resolution defects may require adaptation. You must hold the necessary rights and permissions for every image, artwork, brand or identifiable person included in the file.

Can I print several different artworks within the same small run?

Yes. Supply the list of files, number of copies of each artwork, format, orientation and corresponding margin choice. Each file is checked separately so that the quote can be prepared.

Will the printed result look exactly the same as my screen?

An absolute match between screen and print cannot be promised: brightness, colours and contrast may vary according to the file, screen and printed material. The workshop checks whether the file is technically usable, but the service does not include a contract proof.

What lead time should I allow for A3 or A3+ photo posters?

The usual lead time is 10 to 14 days after project approval and receipt of the required materials. A 24 h or 72 h express option can be considered only subject to feasibility, quantity, condition of the files and workshop workload.
